Our company is the result of a life-altering event that happened

around 9:00 pm on December 26, 2024. Shane Jackson and his wife

Sage Johnson were watching T.V. in their patio space on the

backside of their Florida home. All of a sudden the couple received

a notification from their Ring Doorbell Camera System.

This alert showed two men dismantling one of the cameras and

trying to break into their home. Taking quick action, Shane handed

Sage his phone and told her to go and hide in her office and call

the cops. Meanwhile, Shane rushed to his bedroom to unlock his

self-defense 9mm handgun to protect his home and wife.

As soon as he rounded the corner into the hallway (now armed) he was confronted by one of the two intruders and subsequently discharged three rounds into this man (eventually killing him) and scared off the other. Since this event both Shane and Sage have struggled to return to normal life as paranoia and anxiety are both high in abundance and the couple has to grapple with the fact that Shane killed someone. As their nephew I couldn’t help but think, what can I do to help?

 

Eventually, with the help of the other PACIFIRE members, I decided we needed to develop a less-lethal alternative to self defense to minimize violent encounters such as Shane’s. We gathered around a table at our local Caribou Coffee and discussed what we believe were the key criteria for our proposed self-defense tool: conscience for our customers, dependability in effectiveness, and life-saving on both ends of the barrel. Soon after the first prototype of the current PACIFIRE rounds was developed.

 

While that details the founding of our product, its story is far from over. Every hostility averted, every accidental discharge made non-permanent, every criminal apprehended, every family protected, and every life saved by the PACIFIRE round is yet another chapter of this story. A story in which the world moves in a better and safer direction for all.
